Job Description

A barback's primary responsibility is to support bartenders and ensure a smooth-running bar operation by handling behind-the-scenes tasks like restocking, cleaning, and preparing garnishes.   This role is often a stepping stone for aspiring bartenders, providing valuable experience in the hospitality industry.  

Key duties of a barback include:  

• Restocking:

  Replenishing liquor, beer, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, and napkins throughout the shift.  

   

• Cleaning:

  Washing and polishing glassware, cleaning the bar area, and ensuring bar tools are clean and organized.  

   

• Preparing garnishes:

  Slicing fruits, preparing herbs, and ensuring garnishes are readily available.  

   

• Handling kegs:

  Assisting with keg changes and ensuring proper beer flow.  

   

• Customer service:

  Interacting with customers, answering questions, and assisting with orders when necessary.  

   

• Assisting bartenders:

  Providing support for drink preparation, cleaning up after service, and other tasks that free up the bartender to focus on customer service.  

   

• Opening and closing duties:

  Preparing the bar for opening and assisting with cleaning and closing duties.  

   

• Inventory management:

  Monitoring and restock supplies to prevent shortages.  

  FOXTAIL ON THE LAKE IS OPEN T-SUN 11-10PM AND ON WEEKENDS AT 10AM, CLOSED ON MONDAYS. LOCATED IN DES PLAINES THE FOXTAIL ON THE LAKE IS THE MOST TALKED ABOUT AND EXCITD VENUE IN THE WEST SUBURBS WITH OVER 450 SEAT, AND AND A 150 PERSON SEAT PATIO.
