The Intramural Sports Professional Intern at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will gain valuable experience in campus recreation and leadership through active involvement in program development, event programming, and personnel evaluation. The intern will also build leadership skills in Intramural Sports, marketing, financial management, facility operations, and personnel management, while serving as an ambassador for University Recreation & Wellbeing to the UW-Madison campus and community.

H.S. Diploma
A successful candidate for this position should have previous experience in:
- Sports officiating
- Training, development, and oversight of student employees
- Demonstrating communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Thinking critically to identify and solve problems
- Providing customer service
Typical working hours are weekdays from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with some evening and weekend hours required. The position averages 30 hours per week.
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Terminal appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended based on need and/or funding.
$22.00 HOURLY
This position is not eligible for housing, benefits, or health insurance.
Professional Internship
- The academic year internship is a limited-term position lasting nine months or up to a total of 1,040 hours.
- Employment is expected to run approximately from mid-August 2025 to mid-May 2026.
- Compensation is $22 per hour, based on an average of 30 hours per week.
- The intern will receive time off during university breaks (approximately four weeks, unpaid).
- Opportunities for professional development funding support may be available.
