Job Description

The Leasing Support Specialist provides short- and long-term leasing support to communities across the Jones Street Residential portfolio. This position is not assigned to a single property but instead serves as a flexible resource to support site teams during periods of high demand, staffing vacancies, onboarding, or special initiatives. The Leasing Support Specialist is responsible for executing leasing strategies, delivering exceptional customer service, and contributing to the documentation and rollout of leasing best practices.

This role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a thorough understanding of Jones Street Residential’s leasing standards. The ideal candidate is confident working across various sites, quickly building rapport with on-site teams, and delivering consistent leasing performance. This position also works closely with the Marketing Department to align on-site sales efforts with broader marketing strategies and promotions, and partners with Learning & Development to support onboarding and training initiatives for new leasing professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as interim Leasing Consultant at properties in need of temporary support during staffing transitions or increased leasing demand.
  • Execute leasing activities in accordance with company procedures, including tours, application processing, lease signing, and move-in coordination.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new leasing team members, reinforcing company leasing protocols, technology systems, and customer service expectations.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of leasing best practice documentation and participate in process rollouts in collaboration with the Leasing & Marketing and Property Operations teams.
  • Partner with the Marketing Department to support community-specific sales initiatives, promotions, and lead generation strategies.
  • Help drive occupancy and revenue performance through effective follow-up, closing techniques, and market awareness.
  • Serve as a resource for leasing-related questions, system troubleshooting, and guidance on promotions, renewals, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Partner with Community Managers and Regional Portfolio Managers to identify and implement site-specific leasing solutions.
  • Travel to properties across the portfolio as needed, with flexibility in assignment duration and location based on portfolio priorities.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of leasing experience within residential property management; experience across multiple asset types or lease-up environments preferred.
  • Proficiency in Yardi or comparable property management software required.
  • Strong communication, sales, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to train, support, and guide others while maintaining professionalism and composure in new or changing environments.
  • Highly adaptable with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly, sometimes on short notice, and work at various locations within the portfolio.
