The City of London, Ohio, is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. The London Division of Police serves a community of over 10,000 residents and is responsible for an area covering 9 square miles. The department has an authorized strength of 21 sworn officers. The City is looking for candidates who demonstrate strong personal character and possess the professional skills required to serve in a position of public trust.
Qualifications:
Age: Must be at least 21 years old by the date of hire.
Driver's License: Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Starting Salary: $25.18 per hour

Application Process:
Entry-Level Applicants:
For those not currently employed full-time as a peace officer in Ohio, you must complete a written test through the National Testing Network (NTN), Inc. To apply, visit the National Testing Network website, select Law Enforcement, and sign up for the London Police Department.
Score Adjustments:
Applicants who pass the entry-level examination with a raw score of 70% or higher may be eligible for additional credits, up to a maximum of 20% of the raw score. The following adjustment is available:
Veteran's Credit: Ohio residents who are honorably discharged from the United States Armed Forces will receive a 20% additional credit. A copy of DD214, including block 24, must be submitted with the application.
Lateral Applicants:
Those currently employed full-time as a peace officer in Ohio are not required to complete the written NTN test but must complete other stages of the hiring process. Prior full-time service will be considered when determining starting pay and leave benefits.

All applicants must complete a City of London employment application, which is available online or at the London City Administration Office located at 20 S. Walnut Street, Suite 100, London, Ohio 43140. Applications must be received by 4:00 PM on August 30th, 2024, via personal delivery, mail, or online submission to the Administration Office.
Veteran's Credit Documentation:
Documentation for veteran's credit must be received by 4:00 PM on August 30, 2024, at the City of London Administrative Office.
