The City of Warrenton is currently hiring for Police Officer positions.
Testing Requirements:
Qualified candidates must complete the Frontline National test and hold a valid ORPAT score. Candidates should submit a City of Warrenton Law Enforcement application and Pre-Employment Questionnaire available at the city's website. Testing arrangements should be made directly with NTN.
Salary Information:
Monthly: $5,025.10 to $6,573.79
Additional: Up to $300/month certification pay, longevity pay up to 4%, and overtime eligibility

Department Overview:
Established in 1902, the Warrenton Police Department (WPD) serves Warrenton, Hammond, and Fort Stevens, covering 19.4 square miles. The department includes a Chief, two Sergeants, a Detective, eight Patrol Officers, a Reserve Officer Program, and three support staff members. WPD is highly community-focused, engaging in numerous programs and events year-round.
Area Information:
Located in Clatsop County at the mouth of the Columbia River, Warrenton is known for its historical sites, including Fort Stevens and nearby Fort Clatsop. The city's economy is supported by logging, commercial and sport fishing, tourism, and a bustling retail area along Highway 101. Warrenton is bordered by the popular tourist destinations of Astoria and Seaside.
Population:
Approximately 6,400 residents, with a seasonal increase to 10,000-15,000 due to tourism and local events.
Job Requirements
Age: 21 years at time of hire
Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required
Education: High school diploma or GED (college credits or degree preferred)
Driver's License: Valid Oregon driver's license (must obtain within one year of hire)
Academy Certification (Lateral Candidates): Out-of-state basic certification and ability to obtain Oregon Basic Police Certificate within 180 days of hire if the DPSST PCOD course is available
Convictions: No felony convictions or pattern of misdemeanor convictions related to violence, substance abuse, or domestic violence
