Summary

Kahului Hongwanji Preschool has been in operation for more than 40 years. (Currently Licensed for 42 children).
Spacious playground. Classrooms and cafeteria are airconditioned. Lunch is included. Very supportive volunteer base.

Duties

• Responsible for the safety and well being of children and staff. Insuring grounds, equipment, physical

plant are maintained and in good repair.

• Communicates with parents, staff and temple board.
• Responsible for the supervision of the school staff, staff meetings, orientation and continuing education of

staff.

• Oversees curriculum. Reviews lesson plans. Plans calendars and activities with staff.
• Oversees recruitment/screening of new students.
• Oversees collection of tuition.
• Purchases supplies.

Requirements

• Reside in Maui.
• Meeting requirements for the State of Hawaii
• Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university, 2 years experience working with children,

and at least 1 year experience in an early care and education setting.
OR

• 2 years college with early childhood/childhood development courses, and 4 years experience working

with children, at least 1 year experience in early care and education setting.
OR

• Child Development Associate Credential, 4 years experience working with children, and at least 1 year

in early care and education setting.
OR

• Child Development Associate credential, 4 years experience working with children, and at least 1 year in early care and

education setting.
